I'm not gonna lie, I am looking forward to heading back home to warm Australia! I love London but I miss wearing dresses like this & not freezing my butt off!.. & I miss living in a bikini haha! πŸ˜πŸ™ˆ . Anyway, more importantly…I wanted to talk about "perfectionism". There's a different between striving to better ourselves and "perfectionism". . Many of us feel the need to be "perfect" to avoid criticism, blame, shame, judgment, to please others, to gain praise, to have purpose, to feel worthy and to be loved and accepted. The thing is, perfection doesn't exist, so we never achieve those things that we think we need to feel worthy of love and belonging. You will be loved and you will belong BECAUSE of your imperfections. According to studies, perfectionism is linked to feelings of failure, depression, anxiety and addiction and it restricts and paralyses our life. Perfectionism is something I have dealt with and still deal with (although I'm much better now) and I definitely believe it's linked to my lack of self worth, belonging and acceptance. . I didn't feel "good enough" or worthy of love and never felt like I belonged. I feel like an outcast, an alien, a weirdo.. But I have learnt to embrace who I am and be myself – flaws and all and I got this "perfection" idea out of my head. It doesn't exist. . I don't want to constantly be chasing something that is simply unattainable nor do I want anyone else to feel the way I used to. . I feel so very passionate about sharing messages like this. I love health and fitness but what I believe is most important is mental health. – What you think of yourself, how you feel, loving and accepting yourself and being kind to yourself. There is nothing worse than self-loathing and shame – it destroys us! . I choose to be authentic, I choose to be the REAL me, I choose to embrace who I am and I choose to love myself. Looking girly for once! 😝 Wow what a crazy few days! I flew to Melbourne to surprise some of the amazing ladies from my fit fam and took them through one of my workouts that are coming to Goodlife Health Clubs in a couple of weeks! We had so much fun! Then I met some lovely ladies this morning at the Australian Open – I was supposed to run a workout there but it was raining so we called it off as it was too slippery and just spent the morning chatting! It was amazing! ☺️ I love meeting like-minded positive people! πŸ’—πŸ™ŒπŸΌ I flew back to the Gold Coast this afternoon and attended an event tonight! It doesn't matter if you have abs or no abs, a big booty or a little booty, big hips or small hips, tall or short, thick or thin.. My Meal & Exercise ProgramsπŸ‘†πŸΌLink in bio ~ I always wanted high boots like these but was worried about what people might think. – Now I don't care about what other people think and just wear what I want because "I" want to!! I won't lie though, it hasn't been easy and it takes a while to learn not to care and I really make an effort to not let other people's opinions of me upset me. How many times do you choose NOT to do something because of what someone else thinks? Seriously, no matter what you do people are always going to disagree with you and no matter who you are people are always going to dislike you! Give up trying to please everyone else, stop letting their opinions manipulate you and make decisions for yourself without the fear of what others might think. If you're always living to please other people you will never please them all and you definitely won't be happy yourself. If someone in your life doesn't want you to do what makes you happy because of how it makes THEM feel then I think you should ignore their opinions. They totally have their own agenda and don't truly care about you! Live for you, not for other people who don't truly care about you and stop letting these peoples opinions upset you. Don't let these people hold you back from being the REAL you. Learn to laugh off their negative and critical behavior and focus on your life and happiness and your loved ones. I played with some makeup today! I'm wearing @tartecosmetics πŸ’„πŸŽ¨ – I posted what lip colours I used on my Snapchat: emilyskyefit πŸ‘» . I can't wait to set up my makeup room in my new house! I'm currently looking for a makeup dresser, mirror and lights then I'm going to start filming some more makeup tutorials. My other passion apart from fitness is art and I LOVE doing makeup! ☺️ "Play time" is so important! Make time to get creative and do things you enjoy that relaxes you! I stopped having "play time" for a while and I found myself getting really stressed and anxious. Now I'm making sure I fit it in whenever I can! πŸ˜‰ What do you like to do that relaxes you? . . πŸ‘ I know I don't have a big boootttaaay compared to a lot of people but it's not about that! I have managed to strengthen my whole posterior chain and can now activate my glutes properly and improved my squat and deadlift technique 10 fold. Glute activation is so important when performing exercises such as squats, deadlifts, lunges etc. and gives us not only strength but a better posture and anatomical balance which means less pain and injuries. I just did a quick mini tutorial on my snap chat (πŸ‘» emilyskyefit ) but I'm thinking of doing a proper squat and deadlift tutorial? Would you want to see that? I just know it took me so long to be able to get my glutes firing properly and it's what has given my butt some shape so I'd love to share what I know with you if it's what you want. ☺️ So tutorial?? Lifting weights has given me more than physical strength, it's given me a confidence I'd never had before. I used to have twig legs – which isn't bad mind you, but I always wanted to have more shape & strength & now I do! Lifting weights changes and shapes your body more than you can imagine! Relying on cardio alone in order to get toned isn't going to give you the results you want. Remember the more muscle you have the more fat you burn! You won't get bulky either so don't be scared to lift weights ladies! Team strength training with plenty of nutritious food to get toned! Under eating or spending endless hours doing cardio is not the best or healthiest way! Take it from me, I've tried it! – Let's just say I'll never trade my weights for a treadmill! 😜 . . ⭐️ Need some guidance with your healthy eating and workouts?
